AIESEC vs McDonald's

Using the late night in the office to make posting after long time. Very much of my style - completely off topic.
One e-mail recently made me to write down my earlier idea of AIESEC as a truly global organization similar to McDonald’s.
Consider:

  • They both are global organizations – generally the same all around the world
  • They both support very strong corporate culture – same uniforms, same behaviors, same songs
  • They both support their members/employees in joyful behvior - (for reason not known to me)
  • They both have strong hierarchy in it’s structures – (compare with juniors, full members, MCs, AI - you should know better)
  • They both claim to support some higher goals – (usually support for kids programmes at McDonald’s, world peace in AIESEC)
  • They both are loved by a lot of people (though there’s slightly more people who hate McDonald’s than the ones who hate AIESEC)

    And

  • They both make a lot of money which is not too much shared with the low level staff :-)

OK. Maybe it's somewhat exagerated (remembering "half-true can be big lie" rule) but I hope something for your consideration.

P.S. I don't feel bad about pissing AIESEC people off because I like them ;-)

Very interesting thought. I have never think of the similarity between AIESEC and McDonald's.

Maybe someone should make this a proposal and raise some sponsership from McDonald's. :)

Hehehehe unlike McDonald, quite often our Expenses > Revenue :P. Maybe we do need to get McDonald to sponsor us

Michal: Appart from the fact that I think you should leave the office earlier, I also think this is an interesting analogy.
However,
- do AIESEC people wear the same uniform?. If so, what is it?.
Making money, ay ay ay
- You should go to AIESEC in Argentina, you have NO clue how this perception would change!
- Do many people hateAIESEC? I hope you are not one of them, atre you?

GO HOME!

Nacho:
uniforms - yes remember any event and people running around in the AIESEC t-shirts
hate - I've never said many people hate AIESC. Slightly in this case means "much more". However, I feel some people have grumpsy attitude to the AIESEC (the organization) after leaving. And what's concerning my personal relationship to AIESEC - I like the people, I like the values and I don't mind the organization.

Not sure if it's fair enough to say people have grumpy attitude after leaving AIESEC. If the fact is so, I assume it also happens to ANY other organization and company that people join.

Perhaps some people should take a closer look at the "learning experience" and impact on trainees. :)
